Dr. Amanda Matrai was born and raised in a small town in Brazil. She obtained her veterinary degree in Brazil and spent a year in the U.S. as an exchange student before moving to North Carolina. She practiced locally before happily joining the team at Grace Park Animal Hospital in 2025.

When at work, she particularly enjoys soft tissue surgeries, endocrinology, as well as using low-stress handling with her patients to minimize their fear and anxiety.

Outside practice, Dr. Matrai and her husband share their home with two loving cats, Jinx and Rico. In her spare time, she enjoys making pottery, practicing martial arts and spending time outdoors.
