As a Kennel Manager you will:
- Provide compassionate and humane care to all patients.
- Manage the day to day operations of the kennel.
- Manage kennel employees and scheduling.
- Assist with the hiring and training of new kennel employees.
- Need to understand basic animal behavior.
- Monitor patient health and reports concerns to veterinarian or veterinary assistants.
- Maintain organization throughout the kennel to ensure kennel patients are cared for in accordance with client and doctor instructions.
- Maintain kennel equipment and overall facility to ensure all in working order.
- Assist and fills in when vacant kennel positions arise or when kennel flow warrants.

- Provide client education in pet care, so you must be well versed in regards to various medical procedures and preventive care for pets.
- Perform reception duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, performing financial transactions, and assisting clients as necessary.

As a Transcriptionist you will need to:
- Be self-motivated to complete expected work in a timely manner while working together with a team.
- Be able to utilize various computer applications, to include our Veterinary Practice Management software (Avimark).
- Type quickly (>65 words per minute) and accurately.
- Be able to clearly hear and listen to the recorded dictation of a veterinarian or other veterinary professional.
- Be familiar with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments in order to understand what the veterinarian has dictated, correctly transcribe that information, and identify any inaccuracies in the transcript.
- Transcribe and interpret the dictation into SOAP format, diagnostic test results, and other documents.
- Review and edit drafts prepared by speech recognition software, making sure that the transcription is correct, complete, and has a consistent style.
- Translate medical abbreviations and terminology into the appropriate long form.
- Identify inconsistencies, errors, and missing information within a report that could compromise patient care.
- Follow up with the veterinarian to ensure the accuracy of the reports.
- Submit health records for veterinarians to approve.
- Follow patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements.
- Enter medical reports into Veterinary Practice Management software.
- Perform quality improvement audits.
- Review Routing Forms for missed charges.
- Grade Routing Forms as indicated.
- Scan documents and attach to the appropriate record in Avimark.
- Speak, read, and write clearly and effectively in English.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A 1-year certificate program, 2-year associate’s degree, or equivalent in transcription (preferred).
- 1-2 years of previous experience as a medical transcriptionist (preferred).
