Round Up for Rescue – September 2022

September 2, 2022 Posted by Grace Park Blog, Community Involvement

Featured Rescue of the Month

Great Dane Rescue Alliance

Great Dane Rescue Alliance is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization in North Carolina that stands for the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of these gentle giants and mixed Great Dane breeds.

Meet Copper! She is a 5 month old catahoula mix that has been with us a few weeks. She was surrendered when her owners were unable (and unwilling) to take her to the vet for care after getting bitten on her lip by a copperhead. Luckily a neighbor was able to pick her up and take her there as her face was pretty swollen. She recovered well and is learning how to be a normal puppy living inside now. Potty training is a work in progress. We are working on crate training, she prefers the company of another dog in the room if she’s crated and she’s still not sure that she loves it just yet. She is doing great on leash and enjoys taking in all the sights and smells each morning on a walk. Copper is also deaf so she would do best with another hearing dog in the home. She’s not quite ready for adoption yet but we are accepting applications. She will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. Please email us for an adoption application, gdrainc@gmail.com.
