  • Vet Technicians & Vet Assistants

    Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants are responsible for ensuring that clients and patients receive excellent care and that the services are provided in a timely manner through teamwork and friendly interactions. Technicians and Assistants must be knowledgeable and well versed in regards to various medical procedures and preventive care for pets. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordinating patient/client flow; answering phones to schedule appointments and for patient follow-up; obtaining thorough medical history; assisting with patient appointments; obtaining diagnostic samples (i.e., blood, urine, feces); filling prescriptions; using a microscope for screening; assisting in surgical preparation, monitoring and patient recovery; attending to hospitalized patients; performing basic wound care; performing dental prophylaxis; providing client education about disease and preventive care. Veterinary Technicians and Assistants must enjoy and be comfortable working with animals, primarily dogs and cats, of all sizes and temperaments, be able to lift at least 50 pounds, and be able to work around blood, urine, and feces. To be considered for the Veterinary Assistant position, a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician is preferred, as are exceptional communication skills, and a strong propensity for multi-tasking. In addition to the requirements listed above, to be considered for the Veterinary Technician position, one must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in the State of North Carolina.

  • Animal Care Assistants

    Animal Care Assistants are responsible for the compassionate care and comfort of our boarding patients. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: feeding, walking, medicating, and bathing pets; coordinating doggie day care activities; cleaning and sterilizing kennels and yard; and maintaining cleanliness throughout the entire animal hospital. Animal Care Assistants must enjoy and be comfortable working with animals, primarily dogs and cats, of all sizes and temperaments, be able to lift at least 50 pounds, and be able to work around blood, urine, and feces. Experience in the animal care field is preferred.

  • Groomers

    Groomers are responsible for the professional grooming of both dogs and cats. Groomers are responsible for ensuring that clients and patients receive excellent care, and that the services are provided in a timely manner. Groomers must be able to make a good first impression, help coordinate patient/client flow, take initiative, and communicate appropriate information in both written and verbal forms. Excellent customer service skills are required, as groomer will check in and talk to clients both at drop off and pick up. Groomers must to have the ability to understand specific breeds, their needs in pet maintenance, and be able to perform the duties of pet grooming from cutting and thinning the pet’s coats, to cleaning ears, trimming nails, etc. Additionally, Groomers are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the grooming area, to include cleaning cages and tubs, wiping down windows, sweeping, and mopping the grooming area. Groomers will need to provide their own grooming tools. Groomers must have 1-2 years of professional grooming experience to be considered for the position.

  • Dog Trainers

    Dog Trainers are responsible for training not only dogs, but also the people who handle them. We believe in positive reinforcement techniques to train dogs. Our trainers are experienced in humane training methods that are beneficial to the pets and their human family. Our trainers provide a great deal of interaction and empathy when working with both. Grace Park Animal Hospital provides training classes for puppies, advanced obedience, tricks, and the behaviorally challenged pet. Additionally, Trainers are able to provide Canine Good Citizen testing and certification.

  • Transcriptionist

    Transcriptionists listen to recordings by veterinarians dictating a variety of medical reports, such as preventive care and sick visits, surgeries, and lab work results. Transcriptionists must transcribe dictated reports and translate medical terminology and abbreviations into their expanded forms. Transcriptionists are responsible for editing medical records as necessary to ensure a professional and accurate medical report is generated for every patient. Transcriptionists must have exceptional listening skills and an understanding of conversational and formal speech. Transcriptionists must have the ability to proofread and edit medical records for proper grammar and punctuation. One must also have general computer knowledge and be comfortable working with various computer programs. Strong typing skills are also required.

  • Associate Veterinarian

    The Associate Veterinarian works with the practice owner to define and implement practice medical policies and procedures that ensure quality patient care. They deliver medical, surgical and dental care to patients. The Associate Veterinarian plays a key role in building and maintaining client relationships as well as staff relationships. He/She may assist in supervising staff members in their daily medical duties when the Manager is not in the practice to oversee this important function. This is a leadership position with the important responsibility of ensuring a positive work environment in which the practice can achieve its goals.
